I'm commemorating the beauty and strength in corsets. Corsets are like armor in a way due to their thick material and this is why the corset is made out of metal. The front of it resembles a coat of arms, which was used to identify families, for this instance, it identifies the strength and beauty of a woman. The woman figure is cast in aluminum from a clay model and supporting it is steel sheets with an image transfer on the backside. My corset juxtaposes masculine material, steel, and armor with corsets that represent femininity.
