Sam Horowitz is a sculptor, futurist, and pseudo-scientist working in Western New York. Horowitz has exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the US, earning degrees from Alfred University (MFA, ‘20) and Bard College (BA, ‘10). Within his work, concepts of geology, state change, and philosophy merge and conform to question perspective and identity. Horowitz experiments between the physical states of his materials, manipulating molten metals as they cool, tracing the melting of ice, and disturbing the curing of plaster. Such projects capture inherent, aleatoric properties within each situation, exhibiting material as collaborator within each work.
