In Native American culture, the idea of good and bad medicine remains in many stories and beliefs. When I was growing up, I was told many stories about the medicine. This work is a cast iron turtle shell sewn in a leather boot and collected hawk feathers from over the years. The turtle shell can be a reference to that of earth in a medicine wheel, the leather boor would be the work we do, and the feathers are gifts. In the times we are in this old medicine is needed for healing not only individuals but maybe our nation.
